MINI COUNTRYMAN LAUNCH IN INDIA

Near the appearance of 2018 Auto Expo in New Delhi, the 2018 Mini Countryman will make it's commercial debut in India today. The launch is scheduled to get underway in Delhi today and the car should be available for display and sale across all Mini showrooms in India by mid-May, latest. The 2018 Mini Countryman is available globally in five variants - the base Countryman petrol, the Countryman S petrol, the Countryman D (diesel), the Countryman SD and for the first time in the model's history, a Countryman S E electric-hybrid. All the variants come with Mini's optional ALL4 all-wheel-drive system and a choice of six and eight-speed transmissions. It will be interesting to see what variants and trims make it to the Indian market. All details will be revealed shortly.




The 2018 Mini Countryman has been launched in India at these prices:


  • Mini Countryman Cooper S 34.9 lakh

  • Mini Countryman Cooper SD 37.4 lakh 

  • Mini Countryman Cooper S JCW 44.4 lakh


Specification:

  • The 2018 Mini Countryman SD is powered by a 1,995cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 190PS and 400Nm and that enables it to go from naught to 100kmph in 7.7s.

  • The 2018 Mini Countryman S uses a 1,998cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 192PS and 280Nm and goes from 0-100kmph in 7.5s.

  • The 2018 Mini Countryman has three driving modes-Sport, Mid and Green. Driving assistance systems include Cruise Control, Parking Assistant, Rear View Camera with Sensors and a Head-Up Display.

  • Both the front seats of the new Mini Countryman get electric adjustments and memory function.

  • The 2018 Mini Countryman gets a larger boot - 450l with the seats up or 1,309l with the seats folded. For better versatility, the rear seats also get a 40:20:40 split-folding capability.

  • The 2018 Mini Countryman has a distinctive new face with a sleeker profile, as compared to the outgoing car.

  • The wheelbase of the second-generation Mini Countryman is up by 75mm to 2,670mm. That should translate to improved handling dynamics. We shall find out soon!

  • The second-generation Mini Countryman is 200mm longer and 30mm wider than the outgoing car.

  • The 2018 Mini Countryman gets an 8.8 inch touchscreen system with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay compatibility and 20GB of internal storage.
